Carl Grunert

Carl Grunert ( born November 2, 1865 in Naumburg, † April 2, 1918 in Erkner in Berlin) was a German writer, future stories, plays and poems written.

Life

Little is known about the life of Carl Grunert. He was born in Naumburg on the Saale River in the Province of Saxony, Prussia. He later worked as a teacher at Domgymnasium. He moved to Berlin ( near the Köpenick ), where he was still employed as a teacher. Grunert was married to Erika Huth and had a son with her. He died at the age of 52 in Erkner near Berlin from pneumonia.

Artistic creation

Grunert was an avid reader and admirer of the father of the German future literature Kurd Laßwitz and the founder of the future literature of the French Jules Verne, and the British Herbert George Wells. His work has been partly influenced by these writers. In essence, he wrote short stories in the genre future literature, which he called future novels themselves.

He is one of the most important writers in the field of future literature in Germany and is next to Kurd Laßwitz and Oskar Hoffmann regarded as the founder of this genre in Germany, although he has never even written novels, but only stories. Each of his future novels is based on an original scientific idea for the future.
