Carl Hagelin

Carl Hagelin ( born August 23, 1988 in Södertälje ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player standing since 2011 with the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League contract. His brother Bobbie Hagelin is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Carl Hagelin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Södertälje SK in which he was active until 2007. In 2007 NHL Entry Draft, he was selected in the sixth round as a total 168 players from the New York Rangers. First, however, he attended from 2007 to 2011, the University of Michigan, where he played in parallel in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. With his team he won the 2008 and 2010 the CCHA Championship. He himself was in 2010 also voted the best defensive forward, and in the First All -Star team of the CCHA. Towards the end of the 2010/11 season was the winger made ​​his debut for Connecticut Whale, the farm team of the Rangers, for in the American Hockey League, he scored a goal and an assist each in five games.

In the 2011/12 season Hagelin immediately became a regular player with the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League.

Internationally

For Sweden Hagelin took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 2008, where he won the silver medal with his team.
