Carl Ludwig Koch

Carl Ludwig Koch ( born September 21, 1778 in Kusel, † August 23, 1857 in Nuremberg ) was a German forester and zoologist. He has emerged primarily as an entomologist and Arachnologe (insects and spiders researchers ).

Its membership includes many first descriptions of arachnids, due to, inter alia, of some South American tarantulas and many Central European Real web spiders. These types are listed with the addition of CL Koch, but even cooking. His son Ludwig Carl Christian Koch (1825-1908) was also Arachnologe and also described arachnids ( Europe and worldwide ); the species described by him are donated by L. Koch.

In the years 1813-26 Carl Ludwig Koch worked first as chief forester in Burglengenfeld and later as Kreisforstrat in Regensburg. There he wrote a book band called System of baierischen Zoology (also called Fauna Boica ). It covers mammals, birds, insects, arachnids and soil animals, such as soil mites.
