Carl Raddatz

Carl Raddatz ( born March 13, 1912 in Mannheim, † 19 May 2004 ) was a German film and theater actor.

Life

Raddatz was baptized a Protestant in Mannheim on March 31, 1912, the baptismal name was Karl Werner Fritz. His parents were the insurance officials Karl Hermann Raddatz from Magdeburg and Luisa Elisabetha Nußbickel from Mannheim. In Mannheim Raddatz took acting lessons. By Willy Birgel he came to the National Theatre Mannheim. He then played in Aachen, Darmstadt, Germany and Bremen.

1937 obliged him UFA in Potsdam- Babelsberg for the film Holiday on parole. This was followed by the UFA productions Twelve minutes after Twelve ( 1939), Twilight (1940 ), Immensee (1943) and Under the Bridges (1945 ). He also acted in Nazi propaganda films such request concert (1940 ), Homecoming (1941 ) and Stukas (1941 ) with.

After the Second World War Raddatz was in roses in the fall (1955 ), Night of the decision under director Falk Harnack (1956) and Made in Germany (1957), an audience favorite. In 1975 he turned Everybody dies alone his last movie. In 1979, he returned as consul back in the TV adaptation of Thomas Mann 's novel Buddenbrooks.

Raddatz was part of the ensemble of the National Theatre Theatres in Berlin, joined the Schiller and Schlossparktheater in The Devil's General Carl Zuckmayer and Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. In 1963 he was appointed to the Berlin State actors, in 1972 an honorary member of the State theaters. In the 1950s he dubbed foreign film productions. Raddatz borrowed Among other things, Humphrey Bogart, Robert Taylor, and Lee Marvin 's voice. 1972 Cross of Merit 1st class of the Federal Republic of Germany, he was awarded in 1979 for his life's work, the film tape in gold.

Raddatz was married three times, his first wife, Hannelore Schroth with. He is buried in the cemetery in Dahlem box 005-35, since November 2010, there is a grave of honor in the State of Berlin.

At his former home, on Schülerheim 6, in Berlin- Dahlem, a Berlin memorial plaque was placed on 21 August 2012.
