Carl Schotten

Carl Scots ( born July 12, 1853 in Marburg, † January 9, 1910 ) was a German chemist. He received his doctorate at the University of Berlin (now Humboldt University of Berlin). His doctor father was August Wilhelm von Hofmann. Along with Eugen Baumann in 1883, he described the current name reaction of the Schotten-Baumann method.
