Carl Schulz (footballer)

Karl " Cally " Schulz ( born August 11, 1901 in Kiel, † March 9, 1971 ) was a German football player. He played in both the club and the national team as a center forward.

Life and club

Karl " Cally " Schulz came to Holstein Kiel in 1920 and was regarded as coarse attacking center forward who often was concerned his opponents with hardness. Until the mid- 1930s he played in Holstein Kiel, where he succeeded in 1930, the greatest success of his career by winning the runner-up. After his career, he was the football continue faithful, he later became treasurer of the National Sports Association of Schleswig -Holstein.

National

Schulz in 1925 on a journey to Scandinavia of the team against Finland in Helsinki ( 5:3 ) and against Sweden in Stockholm (0-1 ) are used, but in two games he did not score a goal. He played on the journey to Scandinavia, together with his teammates Oskar Ritter, Kurt Voss, and August Werner.

Schulz was a lawyer by profession and wrote poetry in his spare time.
