Carl Tchilinghiryan

Carl Tchilling - Hiryan (actually Tchilinghiryan, * 1910, † 1987 in Hamburg ) was a businessman and entrepreneur of Armenian descent. Together with Max heart he founded in 1949 the company " fresh - roasted coffee Carl Tchilling GmbH", today's Tchibo Group.

To facilitate the pronunciation of his Armenian name for the future Tchibo customers, Tchilinghiryan changed the spelling of his name to " Carl Tchilling - Hiryan ". Before the creation of Tchibo Group, at the Tchilinghiryan and heart both participated, each with 20,000 marks, Tchilinghiryan acted as dried fruit specialist with dates, figs and nuts and raisins.

Carl Tchilling - Hiryan is today at the park cemetery Ohlsdorf in Hamburg in a family tomb with his parents Karabet Tchilinghiryan (1869-1927), coffee roasters and Erna Tchilinghiryan, nee Petersen (1887-1959) is buried.
