Carl Valeri

Carl Valeri ( born August 14, 1984 in Canberra) is an Australian football player. The national player spent his previous professional career exclusively in clubs in Italy.

Club career

Valeri moved together with his compatriot Nathan Coe 2002 Italian giants Inter Milan after both were elected at the U- 17 World Cup in 2001 All- Star team. After the end of his youth, it did not succeed to prevail in Inter's first team and was awarded for the 2004/ 05 season in the Serie C1 at SPAL. Under coach Massimiliano Allegri Valeri came after a difficult start in 25 games on the use and the following season he followed Allegri to U.S. Grosseto, after the club secured 50 % of the transfer rights to Valeri.

National

Valeri went through all the junior national team of Australia. In 2004 he qualified with the Olympic team for the Olympic football tournament in Greece. During the tournament, Valeri formed with Tim Cahill and Luke Wilkshire the middle of the Olyroos, after 2nd place in group stage they failed because of the surprise team of Iraq 0-1 in the quarterfinals.

On March 24, 2007 Valeri debuted together with Shane Stefanutto under coach Graham Arnold in a friendly match against China in the Australian national team, having previously participated several times at training camp for the national team. Just three months later he was in the first participation of Australia at the Asian Cup squad, came during the tournament as a replacement for Vince Grella but not used. As a result, Valeri cemented his place in the team, favored by injury problems of Grella, and came in the successful qualification for the 2010 World Cup to eleven missions.
