Carl W. Riddick

Carl Wood Riddick ( born February 25, 1872 in Wells, Faribault County, Minnesota, † July 9, 1960 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida ) was an American politician. Between 1919 and 1923 he represented the state of Montana in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years and political rise

Carl Riddick attended the public schools of his home and then to 1890 the Menominee High School. He then studied yet at Albion College in Michigan and at the Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. After his studies, he was from 1899 to 1910 publisher and editor of the newspaper " Winamac Republican ".

Riddick was a member of the Republican Party. From 1906 to 1908 he was in Indiana on the board of that party. In 1910, Riddick moved to the Fergus County, Montana. There he was employed 1910-1918 with the cultivation of wheat and livestock. Since 1915 to 1918 he was hired as " County Assessor " in the management of this district.

Congressman and other CV

In the congressional elections of 1918, he was elected as the successor of Jeannette Rankin in the U.S. House of Representatives. There he graduated between 4 March 1919 and the March 3, 1923 two legislative sessions. In 1922 he opted not to run again. But in the same year, he ran unsuccessfully for a place in the U.S. Senate. After his political career, he was initially doing business in Washington and later in Maryland. Finally, he moved to Florida, where he died in 1960.
