Carl Wallau

Friedrich Carl Wallau ( born August 8, 1823 in Mainz, † July 7, 1877 in Mainz ) was a Mayor of Mainz.

Life

From home printer, Carl Wallau 1844 " Graphic Arts Institute " in Mainz. As of June 7, 1872 held Wallau the office of mayor of Mainz. Because of his service to the City of Mainz extension, he was appointed on 1 March 1877 Mayor of the City; he held until his death in 1877 this office.

Carl Wallau was active in a number of clubs, including Communist Workers' Educational Association in the Mainz, which he in 1848, two days after the sermons of Bishop Wilhelm Emmanuel von Ketteler " to the great social issues of the day ", co-founded and was later to emerge from its successor organization, the community college. Previously, he had been a member of the local German Workers' Association in Brussels.
