Carleton Place

Carleton Place [ ˌ kɑɹltən pleɪ̯s ] is a city in Lanark County in eastern Ontario, Canada. The city is located about 40 minutes west of the Canadian capital Ottawa on Mississippi Lake and the Mississippi River. The river is not to be confused with the current flowing through the U.S. eponymous river.

1819, the site was chosen as the site for a mill. By 1870, the village had grown up, 1890, the city rights were granted.

Carleton Place has about 9,400 inhabitants and offers many recreational opportunities. The proximity to the sea offers all kinds of water sports (fishing, water skiing, canoeing, etc.). Therefore, this region is particularly well used by the residents of Ottawa to relax in the summer.
