Carlo Maria Pintacuda

Carlo Maria Pintacuda ( born September 18, 1900 in Florence, † March 8, 1971 in Buenos Aires ) was an Italian racing driver.

Pintacuda began in the mid 1920s with the racing and was initially successful in some smaller, national races. After the Giro d' Italia, a sports car race, won in 1934 with a private registered Lancia Astura, the team of Alfa Romeo was noticed him and signed him as a sports car and partly as a Grand Prix driver. Among his greatest achievements include winning the Mille Miglia in 1935 and 1937. 's Grand Prix season in 1936 he reached second place at the Grand Prix of Tunis and a fifth place in the Grand Prix of Italy. Alfa Romeo put him even with several races in South America, where he became very popular due to some victories.

After the Second World War, his contract was not renewed with Alfa Romeo. He emigrated to Argentina, where he opened an antique shop in Buenos Aires. In 1971, he died 70 years old in his new home.
