Carlo Rustichelli

Carlo Rustichelli ( born December 24, 1916 in Carpi, † November 13, 2004 in Rome ) was an Italian film music composer.

Life

Rustichelli completed his music studies at the Academia Filarmonica in Bologna and then the Academia di Santa Cecilia in Rome with diplomas in piano and composition from. After a short time in which he wrote operas and theater music, he began in 1939 with the composing film music, where he was until almost ten years later, resistant performed as an author. Working for Pietro Germi meant his breakthrough.

Rustichellis compositions all sound fresh, melody -oriented and catchy. The well-known film composer Ennio Morricone was strongly influenced by his works.

Rustichelli composed the music for 400 films of all genres and budgeting. He became famous by the film music to the films Mamma Roma by Pier Paolo Pasolini and the classic Divorce Italian Style with Marcello Mastroianni.

He twice won the Nastro d' Argento Italian Film Journalists. A prize for film music was named after Rustichelli.

Rustichelli was the father of singer and actress Alida Chelli.
