Carlos Alberto Torres

Carlos Alberto Torres ( born July 17, 1944 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian footballer.

Career

He started his career with 19 years at Fluminese, after three years he moved to FC Santos, where he was teammate of Pele. In 1974 he returned to his hometown club back Fluminese and secured with the second team twice the Campeonato Carioca. After the intermediate station Flamengo, he joined the NASL to New York Cosmos. There he again played with Pele in a team. The time in America was very successful and he was able to three league titles (all with New York Cosmos ) celebrate.

Even in the national team Carlos Alberto was always a mainstay. He led the Seleção in 1970 as captain until the World Cup final against Italy and was able to shoot the score to 4:1 Full there. The Brazilians had been pushed the ball over nine stations and Carlos Alberto completed the magic ball with a brilliant shot from the penalty area.
