Carlos Buhler

Carlos Buhler ( * 1954 in Harrison (New York)) is an American mountain climber, get the some spectacular ascents. He took part in more than 44 expeditions to mountain peaks in Asia, North and South America and is considered America's best high altitude climbers.

In 1983 he was a member of the second American Everest expedition to climb the eastern flank of the mountain. On October 8, 1983, he reached the summit along with Louis Reichardt and Kim MOMB. On his second attempt the ascent of K2, he gave up just before the summit, but could thereby save the lives of Rob Hall. On his third attempt he was able to conquer the K2 on the north side. He was also the first Americans who came to the Kangchenjunga and Nanga Parbat. Noteworthy is also the first ascent of the east face of Ama Dablam in 1985.
