Carlos de Oliveira

Carlos de Oliveira ( born August 10, 1921 in Belém, Brazil, † 1 July 1981 in Lisbon ) was a Portuguese writer and translator. He is considered one of the most important authors of the Portuguese neo-realism.

Life

Oliveira was indeed born in 1921 in Belém, Brazil, but both parents were Portuguese. 1923 Relocation to North Portugal. A degree in philosophy and history in Coimbra. 1949 Marriage, after moving and living in Lisbon. He also writes poetry, he was known as a novelist, however.

On 1 July 1981 Carlos de Oliveira died in Lisbon.
