Carlos Muñoz (Mexican footballer)

Carlos Eduardo Muñoz Remo Lina ( born September 8, 1959 in San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí ) is a retired Mexican footballer, whose regular position was in the defensive midfield.

Life

Association

Muñoz began his professional career in the 1979/80 season with his hometown club Atlético Potosino, for whom he played until 1982. Before the season 1982/83 he moved to the reigning Mexican champion Tigres de la UANL, where he stood up to the end of his active career in the 1994/95 season under contract.

National

His debut in the dress of the Mexican national team celebrated Carlos Muñoz on October 25, 1983, when El Salvador was defeated 5-0. He had his last international match on July 7, 1991 against Costa Rica. The third-place match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 1991 was won by Mexico with 2.0.

His two international goals scored Muñoz on October 31, 1984 against Uruguay (1-1) and on 17 January 1990, when the nemesis Argentina was defeated 2-0.

Highlight of his international career was the participation in the discharged at home World Cup in 1986, when he completed four games of the host in full length and lacked only the last group match against Iraq (1-0 ).
