Carlos Resende

Carlos Alberto da Rocha Resende (* May 29, 1971 in Porto, Portugal) is a Portuguese handball coach and former handball player.

Career

The left back player played his entire career in Portugal. With Sporting Lisbon, he became in 1988 the Portuguese Youth Champion. A year later he won the title with his new club FC Porto in the juniors. In 1994, he triumphed in the cup competition. He then moved to ABC Braga, with which he was able to win four championships and three cup wins. In 2000 he returned to FC Porto and led him to three championships and four Cup successes. In 2006, he ended his career and became a coach of the team. After the championship in 2009, he took a break and studied sports management at the Instituto Superior da Maia. After two years of interruption, he took over the coaching job at ABC Braga.

Carlos Resende is with 1444 goals in 250 internationals Portuguese record holder in both categories. He was elected in 2000 and fifth- leading scorer in the All- Star team at the European Championships.
