Carlos Tiny

Carlos Alberto Pires Tiny (* 1950) is a politician of São Tomé and Príncipe.

Life

Tiny is a member of the Movimento de Libertação - Partido Social Democrata ( MLSTP - PSD). For this he was a candidate on 29 July 2001, the presidential election, but ended up behind the winner and current president Fradique de Menezes ( 56.31 percent of the vote ) and the former first president after independence, Manuel Pinto da Costa, the 38.73 percent of the vote, with 3.26 percent of the vote relegated to third place.

He was elected as the candidate of MLSTP - PSD 2006 deputies of the National Assembly ( Assembléia Nacional ), in which he represents the electoral district of Água Grande.

On 22 June 2008 he was appointed in the cabinet of Prime Minister Joaquim Rafael Branco, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
