Carlton Michael Cole Okirie ( born November 12, 1983 in Croydon ) is an English footballer of Nigerian and Sierra Leonean descent.

Sports career

Coming from the youth of Chelsea, he made ​​his debut for the pros on April 6, 2002 in English Premier League against Everton. He was from November 2002 to January 2003 on loan for five weeks Wolverhampton Wanderers, completed five games, and went up to the end of the season back to Chelsea. At the beginning of the season 2003/ 04 he played a game for Chelsea and was then borrowed from August for the rest of the season at Charlton Athletic. In 21 games, he scored four goals. 2004/ 05 he was awarded again, this time to Aston Villa. For Villa, he played 27 games and scored three goals.

In the summer of 2005 he returned to Chelsea. Due to the strong competition in the storm he had no regular place, ran in the first round in 2005/ 06 but five times. In July 2006 he was transferred for a not exactly quantified transfer fee to West Ham United.

Carlton Cole played a total of 19 times in the English Under-21 team, scoring six goals. On 11 February 2009, he made ​​his debut under coach Fabio Capello on as a substitute against Spain ( 0-2) for the senior national team of his country.
