Carman

Carman is the Celtic mythology of Ireland, a mother goddess and gifted with magic warrior.

Etymology and Mythology

The name Carman belongs to the Welsh word for Birkhan carfan, which means the " tree at the loom ."

Carman wanted to coming to the Dindsenchas with her three sons, of Athens, conquer Ireland. After their defeat by the Tuatha Dé Danann, she was even imprisoned and expelled the sons. From longing for them she died ( according to legend, around 600 BC ) and was buried in Wexford by Bress under oak trees. The festival celebrated its Lugnasad was in Tara in County Kildare and honor.
