The Chai - Bar Carmel Nature Reserve is a 6,000 dunams (600 acres ) is great for breeding and settlement center, which is managed by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority and located in the Carmel Mountains in northwestern Israel. The Chai - Bar Carmel has a Mediterranean climate and is the counterpart to the Chai Bar Jotvata Park, which is located in the desert.

Endangered and not more native to the land animals that are mentioned in the Bible are bred here for possible reintroduction into the Mediterranean forests of northern Israel.
