Carmel, Har Hebron

Carmel (Hebrew kerem -el, " God's vineyard ."; Engl Carmel ) is a Jewish settlement in the West Bank with 319 inhabitants ( 2004). In 1994, Carmel 231 inhabitants. The settlement was founded in 1981 and is located in the region of Hebron. The plans of the Israeli separation barrier until February 2005, recognized that the place is through the course of the separation barrier on the Israeli side. Since February 2005 it is planned that the site will be on the Palestinian side. The settlement is situated two kilometers northeast of the Jewish settlement Ma'on and seven kilometers east of the Palestinian town Yatta.
