Carmen Valdés

Carmen Laura Valdés Capote ( born November 23, 1954 in San José de las Lajas ) is a retired Cuban sprinter.

At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 she reached the semifinals in the 100 meters and won in the 4 x 100 meters relay with the Cuban team in the cast Marlene Elejarde, Valdés, Fulgencia Romay and Silvia Chivas the bronze medal.

Four years later, she left about 100 meters in the quarter finals and with the Cuban relay in the run at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.

In 1973, she was about 100 meters Central America and Caribbean Vice-Champion. The Central American and Caribbean Games in 1974, she won the 100 and 200 meters.
