Carnate

Carnate is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7331 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. It is located approximately 10.5 kilometers northeast of Monza and about 25 km northeast of Milan. Carnate is immediately adjacent to the province of Lecco.

Community partnership

Carnate maintains a partnership with the French commune of Plaisance - du-Touch in the Haute- Garonne.

Traffic

Carnate is at the end of the Autostrada A51, extending as Eastern ring road from the center of Milan to the northeast. It opens here in the Strada Statale 342dir Briantea that leads to the lakes in the north. Together with the neighboring municipality of Usmate Velate is Carnate - Usmate at ranges from Lecco to Milan and from Seregno to Bergamo train station.
