Carol Lewis

Carol Lewis ( Carol LeGrant Lewis, born August 8, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama) is a former American long jumper.

In the held in Moscow due to the U.S. boycott of the 1980 Olympics Liberty Bell Classic, she won silver, and at the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki bronze.

In 1984 she finished ninth at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Four years later, she dropped out in the first round at the Olympic Games in Seoul.

The four times, she was U.S. champion outdoors (1982, 1983, 1985, 1986 ) and Hall ( 1983-1985, 1991).

Carol Lewis is the sister of the sprint and long jump Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis. In her college days, she started for the University of Houston, then for the Santa Monica Track Club. After her active career, she was Sportkommentatorin the NBC television network.
