Carol Pilars de Pilar

Carol Anne Franziska Antonia Pilar de Pilar ( born August 6, 1961 in Bad Godesberg) is a German restorer, painter and Bildhauerein.

Life

Pilar de Pilar is the daughter of Josef Pilar de Pilar and the Frenchwoman Béatrice Lamotte d' Argy. She is also the great-granddaughter of Ladislaus and Antonia Pilar de Pilar and sister Josephine soprano Pilar de Pilar. After high school graduation in South Africa (1975-1976) studied painting and Carol Pilar restoration in Florence. Since 1985 she works as a freelance artist in Dusseldorf. She sits in sculptures and paintings with the tension between poverty and wealth apart.

She lives and works in Dusseldorf and is married to the photographer Franklin Berger. Previously, she worked for several years in a relationship with photographer Andreas Gursky and has two children with him.
