Caroline Reinagle

Caroline Reinagle, born Orger (* 1818 in London, † 11 March 1892 in Tiverton ) was an English composer, pianist and music teacher. Only very few of their works have been preserved.

Life

Caroline Reinagle was born in 1818 in London as Caroline Orger. In the 1840s, published and she played some of her works, including a piano trio (1842 ) and Piano Concerto ( 1842), she lectured in the Hanover Square Rooms in 1843. 1846 she married Robert Alexander Reinagle. She died in 1892 in Tiverton.

Work

Only a few of her compositions have been preserved, including some songs, a Tarantella in E minor and a sonata ( the latter two are works for piano). These two were published by Vivace Press.

In addition to her compositions, she published a textbook in 1854 entitled A few words on pianoforte playing, that was intended for her students ( the subtitle was adressed to her pupils ).
