Caroline Smith

Caroline Smith ( born July 21, 1906 in Cairo, Illinois, † 11 November 1994 in Las Vegas ) was an American Water Diving. She took part in the Olympics and won a gold medal.

At the age of 17/18 years Caroline Smith took part in Paris at the Summer Olympic Games in 1924. She started competing from the diving platform and won the gold medal. Caroline Smith sat down beside it through before her compatriot Elizabeth Becker and the Swede Hjørdis Töpel. It was the first gold medal for an American woman in the tower jumping.
