Carotid canal
As carotid canal is the bony canal of the internal carotid artery called, which in the middle cranial fossa ( fossa media ) opens the artery and thus serves as a gateway into the skull. The carotid canal is formed by the medial part of the temporal bone ( petrous temporal ossis ), which is part of the temporal bone ( temporal bone ) is.
