Carpenter (crater)


Carpenter is an impact crater on the moon on the northwestern edge of the moon 's front panel. It lies north of Anaximander and southeast of Anaximenes. The Wall has terraces and there is a split central peak.

The crater was named in 1935 by the IAU by the astronomer James Carpenter ( 1840-1899 ) and Edwin Francis Carpenter ( 1898-1963 ).
