Carpetbagger

Carpetbagger (of English. Carpetbag, bag made of carpet -like material ) was a derogatory term for Northerners who came after the Civil War in the defeated South in order to enrich themselves on the spoils of victory, so the economy of the South.

As in the south, many management positions were vacant after the defeat of the Confederacy, he managed many soldiers of fortune, to soar with the blessing of Washington's mayor or even governor.
