Carrick (Cornwall)
Carrick ( Cornish: Karrek ) was a District in the county of Cornwall in England; he was named after Carrick Roads, a small bay on the southern coast. Administrative headquarters was the town of Truro. Other important towns were Falmouth, Penryn and St Agnes.
The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the boroughs Falmouth and Penrith and the Rural District Truro. On 1 April 2009 alongside Carrick all other Districts in Cornwall were abolished and combined into a single unitary authority.
