Carrickfergus Borough Council

Carrickfergus ( Carraig Irish Fhearghais ) is one of the 26 Districts in Northern Ireland. The District, whose territory lies in the traditional county of Antrim, was established in 1973 and has the status of a Borough. Significant places in the Borough are the City of Carrickfergus, which is also the administrative center, and Green Iceland and Whitehead. The Carrickfergus District has the highest proportion of all Protestant population of Northern Ireland District.
