Carrie Snodgress

Carrie Snodgress (* October 27, 1945 or October 27, 1946 in Park Ridge, Illinois, USA, † 1 April 2004 in Los Angeles, California; actually Caroline Snodgress ) was an American actress.

Life

She received an Oscar nomination in 1971 and two Golden Globes for her role in the film Diary of adultery ( Diary of a Mad Housewife ) as best actress and as a most promising talent. Shortly afterwards she retired to private life and married the rock star Neil Young. With him she had one son named Zeke, who suffers from cerebral palsy.

After separating from Young seven years later, she launched a comeback, but ultimately could not build on the early success. She played theaters and made ​​numerous films of varying quality for cinema and television.

Carrie Snodgress died of heart failure while waiting in a Los Angeles hospital for a liver transplant.
