Carroll County (Tennessee)

The Carroll County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. In 2010, the County had 28 522 inhabitants and a population density of 18.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Huntingdon, which was after Mimican Hunt, an early settler, who provided the land for the city's foundation, named.

History

The Carroll County was formed on November 7, 1821 from Chickasaw country. It was named after William Carroll (1788-1844), a six-time governor of Tennessee.
