Carroll Thomas Dozier

Carroll Thomas Dozier ( born August 18, 1911 in Richmond, Virginia, USA; † 7 December 1985) was bishop of Memphis.

Life

Carroll Thomas Dozier received on 19 March 1937, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On November 12, 1970 Pope Paul VI appointed him. the first bishop of the newly erected Diocese of Memphis. The prefect of the Congregation for the Clergy, Cardinal John Joseph Wright, donated to him on January 6, 1971, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Luigi Raimondi, and the Archbishop of Louisville, Thomas Joseph McDonough.

On July 27, 1982 Carroll Thomas Dozier resigned as Bishop of Memphis.
