Carsten Bergemann

Carsten Bergemann ( born January 24, 1979 in Bautzen ) is a retired German racing cyclist and current coach.

Cycling career

Bergemann starts for the Chemnitz PSV. In 2000, he won his first national title in the team sprint. He became European Champion in 2001 in the team sprint. In 2002, he won the team sprint at the European Championships and at the German Championship, the World Cup, the German team with Sören Lausberg, Jens Fiedler and Bergemann took the bronze rank. A year later he became world champion in the team sprint together with René Wolff and Jens Fiedler.

2004 won Bergemann the German championship in the team sprint and the 1000 -meter time trial. At the Olympic Games in Athens Stefan Nimke entered instead Bergemann on in the team sprint. Bergemann was eighth in the 1000 -meter time trial. 2005 Bergemann was again German time trial champion, 2006 in the team sprint. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing Bergemann finished 5th in the Keirin.

At the German track cycling championships in July 2009 in Erfurt, he won the league title in the team sprint together with Sascha Hübner and Robert Förstemann (all "Team Natural Gas 2012" ) as well as his first title in the sprint. The following year, he finished at the Deutsche Bahn Championships in Cottbus second place in the team sprint with Robert Förstemann and Joachim Eilers second place. In the web Championships 2011 in Berlin, he was German champion in the team sprint, together with Maximilian Levy and Robert Förstemann.

Coaches and officials

Since 1 January 2012, Bergemann is part of the coaching staff for the U-23 national team of sprinters. He's railway Fachwart the Saxon Cyclist Federation and supervised in the base Heidenau the offspring. Bergemann is also involved as a board member in the Saxon Association of Special Olympics.
