Carsten Embach

Carsten Embach ( born October 12, 1968 in Stralsund ) is a retired German bobsledder and current Bobtrainer.

Like so many bobsledder began Embach his career in athletics. He was the last in the long jump indoor champion of the GDR and finished at the European Indoor Championships in 1990 with 7.83 m in fifth place.

In 1994, Embach first time in the Olympic Games and won the four-man event by Wolfgang Hoppe bronze. 1995 and 1997 he was with the four-man event by Hoppe world champion, in 1996, the team received bronze. In 1998, the team failed to qualify for the Olympic Games and Wolfgang Hoppe ended his sports career.

Carsten Embach joined the team of distinguished André Lange and won with the four-man event in 2000 again the world title. After silver at the 2001 World Championships of four-man won with Lange, Embach, Enrico Kühn and Kevin Kuske gold at the Olympic Games 2002., 2003, the team with René Hoppe instead Enrico Kühn was again champion. After ending his playing career was Embach national coach in the Bobsleigh and Luge Federation for Germany.
