Carsten Linnemann

Carsten Linnemann ( born August 10, 1977 in Paderborn ) is a PhD in economics and a German politician of the CDU and chairman of the SME and Business Association (MIT) of the CDU / CSU. In the federal elections of 2009 and 2013 he won the direct mandate in the constituency Paderborn (138).

Life and career

Political career

From 1997 to 2001 Linnemann was chairman of the Junge Union harrow, the local community association of the Junge Union in the district of Paderborn. From 2006 to 2007 he was a fellow of the future CDU Academy of North Rhine -Westphalia. From 2004 to 2008 Linnemann was a member of the Council of the municipality Altenbeken in Paderborn district. In the 2009 federal election Linnemann stood as parliamentary candidate of the CDU for the electoral district of Paderborn and won the direct mandate with 52.1 percent of the primary vote. It was the second- best first vote in North Rhine -Westphalia, but also the worst first vote for the CDU in this constituency since 1949. He succeeds by Gerhard Wächter, who sat for the district of Paderborn in the Bundestag since 2002.

In the general election in 2013 Linnemann increased its Erststimmenanteil in the constituency to 59.1 percent, thus achieving the best first vote in North Rhine -Westphalia.
