Carsten Lund

Carsten Lund ( born July 1, 1963) is an American computer scientist.

Lund was in 1991 at the University of Chicago with Lance Fortnow and Laszlo Babai PhD ( The Power of Interaction ). He conducts research at the AT & T Laboratories in Florham Park (New Jersey), where he focused on, among other things to cope up with the flow of information in Internet networks ( Internet Traffic Engineering ).

Based on his doctoral thesis and in collaboration with his teachers Babai and Fortnow he proved early 1990s sentences of the proof of interactive systems provable ( PCP 's) problems of complexity theory. This led later in the 1990s as proof of the PCP theorem. In 2001 he was awarded the Gödel Prize for his contribution to this development.

In 2005 he won the Science and Technology Medal from ATT.
