Carsten Podlesch

Carsten Podlesch ( born September 6, 1969 in Berlin ) is a retired German racing cyclist.

His career began as a cross-country rider Carsten Podlesch at the " Zehlendorfer squirrel ". At the age of 19, he switched to the upright wheel. In the 21 years of his racing career he won two world titles, three European Championships, twelve German championships and among other alone ten stayer wins in the six-day race in Berlin. Five times he won the traditionally held on the 2nd Christmas in the Dortmund Westfalenhalle discharged " World Cup of the uprights ." From 2001 to 2004 Podlesch drove for the team Wiesenhof.

His last world title won Podlesch in 1994 and is thus eternal champions, because since then no stayer World Championships were held longer. Also Podleschs father Rainer was twice world champion in amateur stayer, his uncle Karsten Podlesch is active as a pacemaker. In the only championship, both disputed together, the team Carsten Podlesch / Karsten Podlesch was established in 2000 in Chemnitz European champion stayer.

Carsten Podlesch ended his career at the 97th Berlin 6 Day Race January 29, 2008 and has since worked as a graduate health economist.
