Carter Heyward

Isabel Carter Heyward ( born August 22, 1945) is an American theologian and pastor.

Ordination

Carter Heyward was consecrated in June 1974 along with ten other women as priests of the Episcopal Church. Since this represented a breach of the former rules of their church, the priesthood until 1976 was not officially recognized.

Theology

Heyward is a professor of theology at the Episcopol Divinity School in Cambridge (Massachusetts ) in the United States.

Her work in the field of theology of the relationship is classified as a feminist liberation theology, it emphasizes the relationship power than the mode of action of the divine in the world. For them, the divine occurs between each individual and all beings again and again. God is a relational event, which takes place again and again. "God is love - the constant, immediate longing and urge to incarnate reciprocity in the entire cosmos. " This God should be completed. This process refers to them as " godding ", the activity of the materializing of God as the power of relationship in the verb neologism " to god ".
