Cartonnage

The cardboard comes from the field of packaging technology and is made from stabilized paper (cardboard or in connection with cardboard). For each type of outer packaging, there are cardboard boxes in various thicknesses and sizes. When folded, it takes up little space in the warehouse. For sensitive goods or commodities corrugated board is mainly used for their protection.

Cardboard should be like other paper types also supplied to the paper recycling in the waste separation. They do not belong in household waste. They are used in paper mills recycled but also exported, especially to China. The export is ecologically little sense and politically undesirable. In Germany the paper and Altkartonexport between 2000 and 2009 has declined to about a quarter. Switzerland was even the importer.
