The CASA C-101 Aviojet is a military school and light ground attack aircraft of the Spanish manufacturer Construcciones SA Aeronáuticas.

Description

Although there was already a large number of light ground combat and training aircraft on the market mid-1970s, the development of Aviojet project was launched with the support of the Northrop Corporation and MBB 1975. The first flight took place on 27 June 1977. The production of the aircraft was carried out, except for the purchased Garrett engine, complete in Spain.

The Spanish Air Force purchased the machine in large numbers and upgraded in 1985 their aerobatic team Patrulla Águila with the type. Today seven machines C -101 Patrulla Águila the have a higher service ceiling of 14,000 meters, a top speed of 845 km / h and more by the lack of armament tanks for a flight duration of up to 7 hours.

An export version went to Chile (A -36M Halcon ) and is made there under license later. Other export countries are Honduras and Jordan.
