Casalvieri

Casalvieri is a town in Lazio, Frosinone in central Italy with 2809 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is located 46 km east of Frosinone and 127 km east of Rome.

Geography

Casalvieri situated on a hill above the valley of the Melfa. It is a member of the Comunità Montana Valle di Comino.

History

Casalvieri was already settled by the Volsci and Romans. However, the first written record comes from the year 1017. 1076 was the place to the abbey of Montecassino.

1915 Casalvieri was severely hit by an earthquake and also in the Second World War, there was severe destruction.
