Casarsa della Delizia

The community Casarsa della Delizia is located in northeast Italy in the Friuli- Venezia Giulia in the province of Pordenone. It is located south of Pordenone and has 8639 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

The municipality covers not only the main town Casarsa della Delizia five other villages and hamlets: Boscat, San Floreano, San Giovanni, Versuta and Villa Sile. The municipality has an area of 20.4 km ². The neighboring municipalities are Arzene, Fiume Veneto, San Vito al Tagliamento, Valvasone and Zoppola.

The writer and director Pier Paolo Pasolini worked in the forties of the last century as an elementary school teacher in Casarsa della Delizia, the village of his grandparents on the Adriatic. His final resting place he found in the cemetery in Casarsa della Delizia.

Around two kilometers west of the town is the military airfield Casarsa della Delizia.
