Casey Borer

Casey Borer ( born July 28, 1985 in Minneapolis, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who stands in July 2013 in the Berlin Polar Bears in the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

The 1.88 m tall defender first played in the U.S. National Team Development Program of the American Hockey Association, during his college days, he stood for the St. Cloud State University in the WCHA, a league game in the operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, on the ice. For two years he was there captain of the University team. NHL Entry Draft 2004 Links shooter was finally selected as 69 in the third round of the Carolina Hurricanes ( drafted ).

First Borer played for the Albany River Rats, a farm team of the Hurricanes in the AHL, his first NHL inserts for the franchise from Carolina, he played in the 2007/ 08 season: On January 2, 2008, the defender was in for the injured Bret Hedican in the NHL squad called the Hurricanes. Against the Atlanta Thrashers Borer was the same day NHL debut, two days later, he scored in the next game against the Thrashers scored his first goal in the top North American professional league.

After his recovery from Hedican Casey Borer returned to the squad of the River Rats on 21 February 2008. By 2011, he played for the farm team of the Hurricanes in the AHL, while only came to a few uses in the NHL.

In August 2011, Borer was obliged by HC Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga after a day earlier Josef Melichar had ended his career short. May 9, 2012 Borer announced his move to Germany to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers. In July 2013, the Americans signed a two -year contract with the polar bear Berlin.

Internationally

For the U.S. junior national teams denied Borer U18 World Cup 2003 and the U20 World Cup in 2005, where Team USA took fourth place respectively.
