Casey County, Kentucky

Casey County is a county located in the state of Kentucky in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Liberty, which was founded by veterans of the American Revolutionary War. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

Geography

The County is situated near the geographic center of Kentucky and has an area of ​​1154 square kilometers without significant water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Boyle County, Lincoln County, Pulaski County, Russell County, Adair County, Taylor County and Marion County.

History

Casey County was formed on November 14, 1806 from parts of Lincoln County. It was named after Colonel William Casey, an early settler.
