The Company

The casinos of the constituted in Laxenburg on 3 January 1934, recorded on January 5, 1934, the Austrian casino A. G. were taken ( at Casinos Austria AG 1985 renamed) in 1967 by the Austrian casinos AG. The operation is regarded as one of Austria's largest taxpayers.

For global Casinos Austria Group currently has 74 casinos, among others in Copenhagen, Prague, Johannesburg, Vienna, Brussels and, since 2007, in Belgrade. Over 17 million people visit each year a game operation of Casinos Austria. In 2004, a total turnover of nearly 1 billion euros was achieved with 9,200 employees.

In Germany came in 2001 2.8 million passengers for 2005, the number of 2.3 million has been released. Casino Management has announced the reduction of 150 employees, with 215 first, it will however be far more. That's more than 10 percent of the 1,800 employees in Austria. This negative trend is due to the swirling of many players to the new ways to play on the Internet that make the transition into the labor-intensive casino unnecessary and soften the existing monopoly. Therefore, the marketing strategy reinforced the experience value of casino visit with dinner menus and event framework.

The average Austrian croupier is 41 years and earned between 3000 and 4000 euros gross per month. The remuneration of its foreign counterparts are usually much lower. The salary sat so far from about 20 percent of base salary and from the so-called Cagnotte - that pot, which feed the player by means of tip - together. This system was abolished in 2006, the salaries are assembled on a firm basis with a profit-sharing in the overall result. Previously, each dealer had a certain number of points by which the salary calculated. The value of the points has dropped steadily in recent years.

In order to outline the cost of a casino, the new Casino Belgrade is exemplified: Planned investment of 30 million euros, half of the state license for the operation of gambling in the next ten years. The other 15 million euros will be invested in the location and the facilities. The largest investment in a casino location was the last renovation and expansion of the casino in Baden in the years 1992 to 1995 about 70 million euros, the game room was designed again in summer 2007.

The Casinos Austria AG has lost in recent years, several claims for damages of Exspielern and had a total pay back millions. The breach of the player protection provisions of § 25 GSpG and the lack of due diligence were most judicially determined by the Supreme Court. An amendment to the Gambling Act ( GSpG ) in August 2005, claims for damages were limited to subsistence and reduced the limitation period to six months.
